Apricot tree "Early from Saumur"
 (Prunus armeniaca)
 Is it really possible to grow apricot trees in Brittany? The answer is yes! But only if you follow certain guidelines:
 - Choose varieties suited to Brittany.
 - Use a rootstock adapted to our Breton soils.
 - Offer them a good location, sunny and fairly sheltered from the wind.
 The "Précoce de Saumur" variety is well adapted to Brittany, is self-fertile and very productive !
 It will offer orange fruits (reddish on the sunny side) with flesh that is not very juicy but fine, melting, sweet and very fragrant.
 Ripens from late June / early July.
 Self-fertile but production improved by the presence of another variety nearby.
 1-year-old scions sold bare-root (collection from December to the end of February).
 Plants grafted onto Myrobalan Plum (very resistant and productive / average adult height of 4 to 6m).
