"Vanessa" vine (seedless)
(Vitis x vinifera)
Vanessa is definitely one of my favorite grape varieties!
It is one of the rare varieties with pink (almost red) grains to also offer very good resistance to fungal diseases (mildew, powdery mildew, etc.).
Vanessa is also very cold resistant.
The medium-sized, elongated bunches are well-filled with round, dark pink berries when ripe and delicious! Vanessa offers one of the best pink/red grapes with crisp berries, a mild, sweet, and fragrant flavor. The icing on the cake: seedless grapes !
In short, Vanessa is unanimously loved by those around me!
Native to Canada and seasonal, it can be grown outdoors, provided it is given good exposure (against a south-facing wall), but in Brittany, its full potential is exploited in a greenhouse.
