- Description : The currant or casseille is a cross between blackcurrant and a thorny gooseberry. Produces large, tangy, and fragrant fruits of a translucent purple color. "Anita" is the earliest of the casseilles, whose fruits ripen in early July. Harvesting takes about 2 weeks.
